When you train to teach with the i2i Teaching Partnership, from your very first day you will be in the classroom making a difference.
From shadowing and observing at the start to gradually taking responsibility for planning and delivering lessons, you will be implementing the theoretical knowledge taught during your weekly professional studies training days. Your Subject Mentor will support you both in and outside of the classroom, ensuring that your responsibilities increase in line with your developing experience and confidence.
Reuniting with your fellow trainees at your local training centre, our weekly professional studies days develop your understanding of the theory of teaching (pedagogy). These interactive sessions not only teach you the theory, but encourage you to reflect upon your own practice and to critically engage with current research and pedagogy. You will develop your critical thinking, analytical and research skills, whilst building your support network with your fellow trainees.
Alongside your school based and centre based training, subject studies days focus on the nuances of teaching your subject. These sessions, delivered by a subject expert, support your curriculum knowledge and enable you to develop teaching strategies specific to your subject. Returning to the classroom you will feel prepared to teach your subject with knowledge, enthusiasm and confidence.
