Internship Testimonial
"I chose to apply for the i2i Teaching Internship programme after having an initial conversation with Krissy at one of the ‘Get into Teaching’ open events at Weydon School. I was fairly sure at that point in time that I was going to apply to train as a teacher through i2i and the internship seemed like a good way to solidify my decision. The structure of the three-week programme ensured that, when it came to teaching my episode at the end of the three weeks, I had a good foundation of pedagogical knowledge to have a successful episode. Liz, the programme director, ensured that we had a broad base of sessions that gave us an insight into what life in teaching was like including a Q&A session with Senior Leaders at Weydon and placement days at a SEND specialist school and a KS2 (Primary) provider. After completing the programme, i2i offered interns the chance to interview for a position on the training programme which I accepted, and was subsequently offered a place for the following academic year. Now, I am almost a term into my training year as a Biology Teacher and am absolutely loving it! I definitely feel as though the internship gave me the opportunity to see an unfiltered, accurate and genuine view of what teaching is like and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is considering getting into teaching and wants to really experience, first hand, whether it is for them!"
