What Our Trainees Say About Us

English Trainee
"When a lesson comes together, you can see the effect it has on the student in the classroom as they grow in knowledge and confidence. It is a fantastic feeling!"
I wanted to become a teacher because I have always aspired to have a career that I would enjoy. I have had lots of experience coaching people of all ages in various sports, and when the opportunity came up to do a similar job with English I could not refuse!
There is nothing better than seeing the difference your hard work has on other people. When a lesson comes together, you can see the effect it has on the student in the classroom as they grow in knowledge and confidence. It is a fantastic feeling!
I have chosen to teach English because I passionately believe in the importance of the subject. Not only is it needed as a GCSE grade to get a job, but it forces students to debate, develop important opinions and provides the opportunity learn about some great literature!
I chose the school led route because I was aware of the limited amount of workplace experience I had. Despite having part time jobs throughout college and university, my experience of working full time was extremely limited. I needed to learn how to plan, build a routine and be a reliable employee. I have been able to develop all of these skills by using the school-led route. Furthermore, there is nothing better than actually being in the classroom!
Some of the highlights have included being a part of a form group and getting to know those students by spending time with them every day. Furthermore, it is always a highlight when a lesson that I have planned comes together well and you can see the progress on each student’s learning.
