Meet the Team
Amy Diprose
i2i SCITT Director and Weydon Training Centre Director
Amy has taught English for more than 20 years in a variety of schools in Australia, Scotland and England, including roles in senior leadership, leading Teaching and Learning and as Lead Practitioner for Disciplinary Literacy. Her experiences as a teacher and senior leader have encouraged her belief that the purpose of education is to instil curiosity and a love of learning, seeing this aspect of teaching as the most rewarding part of being in the classroom. The most treasured moments for Amy are those where a student makes connections and becomes fully immersed and lost within a poem or story.
Amy’s broad experience makes her highly qualified to lead and deliver the i2i trainees' professional and pedagogical curriculum and support the team of Subject Lead Mentors. Amy feels privileged to be able to utilise her experiences to shape and empower the next generation of teachers, embracing the moments when trainees’ curiosity is piqued so they are not only learning but questioning and debating academic research. Amy believes that supporting trainees to grow in confidence and achieve their potential allows her to give back to the educational community and create a legacy of ongoing excellence as these trainees become the next leaders of our profession.
